KISORO – The Kisoro Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Hajji Shafiq Sekandi Sengooba, has firmly stated that he will not be swayed by public pressure when it comes to carrying out his professional duties and addressing security-related matters in the district.

The RDC’s comments came in response to recent criticism from Hon. Eddie Kwizera Wagahungu, the Member of Parliament for Bukimbiri County.

The MP had accused the RDC’s office and the District Police Commander (DPC) of failing to resolve disputes between Kisoro United Boda Boda operators and Bukimbiri United Boda Boda operators

In an interview with Our Reporter today, Ssekandi emphasized that the Kisoro district security teams are effectively executing their duties based on intelligence-gathered information, rather than catering to the personal interests of individuals.

He stressed the importance for each leader to work within their own jurisdiction without interfering in the responsibilities of others. Ssekandi also highlighted that simply arresting wrongdoers does not offer a lasting solution to resolving disputes.

Ssekandi also advised the Bukimbiri United Boda Boda operators (BUBO) to refrain from politicizing their organization and instead focus on conducting their business in accordance with regulations. He expressed the need for the public to show respect towards public officers who have been entrusted with their roles.

He also emphasized the importance of maintaining professionalism and avoiding undue influence in order to ensure that security matters are dealt with effectively and fairly in Kisoro district.
