Embrace Love over Hatred – Kamuronko Archdeacon Tells Mourners in Kabale

KABALE – The Archdeacon of Kamuronko Archdeaconry in the Diocese of Kigezi, Ven Bens Aharimpisya has on 23rd October 2023 urged Christians to embrace love instead of hatred.

He emphasized that love is the pathway to the kingdom of God. He said this during the funeral service of Baguma Amos, a 69-year-old businessman residing in Kyamugasha village, Kanjobe parish of Kyanamira sub-county in Kabale district. Tragically, Baguma was murdered on the night of October 21, 2023, around 10:00 PM by unknown assailants. His lifeless body was discovered by Asiimwe Ketty, who was distributing government mosquito nets in the village.

Ven Aharimpisya, in his sermon, condemned those who manipulate others’ lives, cautioning against individuals who wear masks of friendship while harboring deceitful thoughts in their hearts. He implored the mourners to embrace genuine love and to steer clear of malevolent actions.

Turyatunga James Eliezer, the chairperson of LC11 in Kanjobe parish, Kyanamira Sub County, Kabale, addressed the gathering, urging the community to remain vigilant and collaborate with local leaders to combat crime in the area. He encouraged mourners to report any unfamiliar individuals hired for manual work to local leaders, emphasizing the importance of ensuring personal safety and that of their neighbors.

Baguma is survived by two wives, leaving behind a legacy of 19 children and 69 grandchildren.
