KABALE: 7000 Christians expected to attend Diocese of Kigezi Annual Brethren Conference

KABALE – About 7,000 Christians from within and beyond the Diocese of Kigezi are expected to convene for the three-day Diocesan Annual Brethren Conference, starting tomorrow at the convention site Rugarama Hill in Kabale Municipality.

Rev. Canon Milton Nkurunungi, the Secretary of the Diocese of Kigezi, says that this year’s conference theme is “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,” derived from Romans 12:2 (Mutashushanizibwa Nabobusingye obu). The conference, commencing tomorrow, is scheduled to conclude on Sunday, January 14, 2024.

The guest speaker for the conference is the Bishop of North West Ankole Diocese, accompanied by notable speakers, including Rev. Andrew Agaba, Rev. Canon Prof Medard Rugyendo, Ven Oscar Mwesigwa, Rev. Ambrose Kwesigwa, Rev. Edward Mwesigwa, Maama Anne Mbiste, and Rev. Canon Dr. Rebecca Margret Nyegenye.

Rev. Canon Nkurunungi says that preparations are in their final stages for an engaging and vibrant conference. He expressed confidence that attendees will be spiritually and morally enriched by the diverse messages from the esteemed speakers.

Reverend Benon Agaba, the diocesan planning and development officer, emphasized that heightened security measures will be in place to ensure law and order throughout the conference. He also cautioned food vendors, stating that only those registered by the organizing committee will be permitted to operate within or around the convention site premises.
