KABALE – The Kabale District Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Ndamira Catheline Atwakiire has urged Christians to avoid extravagant expenditures during this festive season in order to plan accordingly and meet their goals next year.
Hon. Atwakiire conveyed this message today at Emmanuel Kasheregyenyi Church of Uganda under Muyebe Archdeaconry.
The service, led by Parish Priest Rev Victor Ndiharomwe in Kamuganguzi sub-county, Kabale District, was attended by Honorable Atwakiire.
She also graced other church services, including Kyarugondo Hiika under Kicumbi Centre Rushoroza parish, Kabale Diocese.
Subsequently, Honorable Atwakiire joined fellow Christians for the baptism service of Alex Owamani’s son, the Kamuganguzi Sub County District Councillor, at Nyangoyi Church of Uganda, Kasheregyenyi Parish under Kamuganguzi Archdeaconry in the Diocese of Kigezi.
The service, led by Just Ayebare, Diocese of Kigezi Treasurer, provided an opportunity for Hon. Atwakiire to advise Christians on responsible spending.
She emphasized the importance of managing constant expenditures such as meeting family needs and children’s education expenses, encouraging them to spend wisely in preparation for future demands.
Additionally, Hon. Atwakiire rallied Christians to prioritize a saving culture as a means of avoiding unforeseen financial burdens.
Noting that some individuals spend money on festival days without proper planning, she highlighted the adverse impact on a country’s development, as unplanned expenditures often result in losses.
Honorable Atwakiire urged Christians to use the Christmas season for reflection, repentance, and a return to God.
In her counsel, she also emphasized the need to safeguard children from worldly pleasures that could jeopardize their future.
Hon. Atwakiire stated, “All children are important; let’s safeguard them from being engulfed by the pleasures of the world.”
